Misc.

What a week!  Carter has been squeezing in as much fun as he can into the last few days of my summer vacation (sigh).  Allow us to fill you in:

Carter visited the doctor and is perfect.  This is not biased in any way ;-) Even the doctor thinks so!  He weighs 18 pounds (46th percentile) and is 27 inches long (78th percentile).  And for all of you who comment on his "large head," I'll have you know that his noggin is just the right size. We go tomorrow to get vaccination updates.  Ouch!

Carter has been helping mommy get her classroom ready.  We haven't gotten a lot done.  Go figure!

Carter had a blast at his first Vacation Bible School.  It was supposed to be for ages 3 and up, but he has everyone wrapped around his finger.   In reality, the church nursery has been his second home this summer-complete with crib, toys, changing table, and swing.

Speaking of swings, I couldn't resist.  I have been eyeballing this beauty for months just waiting for Carter to be old enough.  Great Gpa hung it up this week at the lake and the little guy ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!  If you can picture it, he laughs everytime he comes toward someone and opens his mouth really wide with his tongue sticking out when he swings backwards.  Best twenty bucks I've spent in a long time.

One of the most exciting things that happened this week was that Carter had his very first slumber party with his cousins.  They swang, swam, and played until they crashed all together in the living room.  Jaden insisted on sleeping next to Carter.

Last, but not least, Carter and mommy made their first trip to the zoo.  He wasn't too interested in the animals, but loved the tall grasses, water wading pool, and following around his friends Trevor and Ms. Megan.  I can't wait to take him back next year!

  1. Those outdoor swings are a GREAT investment. We have used ours for 3 years now. Rain, shine, sleet, snow...Lily still asks to go outside and swing. :c)

I can't believe summer is almost over!
